Here it is Thursday night and we find that we only have  ten (10) days left in paradise.  Today was a good day - started off with breakfast at our local haunt, Cafe Negro and then it was on to downtown Ajijic to look a the different shops on the Colon.

Deborah managed to find some local trinkets for the grand kids and then because of the heat (92 degrees) we dropped in at the LCS (Lake Chapala Society) for a "coca light" where we met Benji and Cinder, two of the local LCS pets that roam the grounds during the day.   If I had a leash, I think I would have taken Benji home with us after he stared at me with those big dark brown eyes.

After than we headed back to El Dorado for our siesta which has become the normal case before dinner.  We decided that we were going to go to Number Four for dinner and a show (Battleship), but we've come to understand that any plans that you make here in Ajijic are subject to change at a moment's notice.

As we walked up the road to head for dinner, George and Jan pulled up in their car and asked if we wanted to join them for dinner.....  Sure Why Not !.   So off we went to Cafe Ma Ga Na, a local restaurant on the Caraterra on the way to Chapala.   This was a nice little spot run by an expat from the UK who served up a great hamburger and fries.   I felt somewhat obligated to our ride, so I took care of the dinner for four - I thought that the $24.00 was within our budget.

Last night in the square in Ajijic there was a community meeting held in the square that was being offered to all residents (locals and gringos) to explain and dispel some rumors regarding the recent murders here in the Ajijic area.   This was conducted by the Chief of Police and the local Federali representatives.   While Deb and I didn't make it, George and Jan did so we got the skinny at dinner.

After dinner, we were invited by some other neighbors Terry and Bernadette to play some cards, more specifically a game called GOLF.   So with eight of us (Tom - I realize that I've not yet completed the Organizational Chart and that it's likely still difficult for you to keep track of the players - just know that I'm working on it) including a new couple that we've met from Edmonton - Barry and Kate - we had a good night with lots of wine and some good company.  Deborah even got invited to a girls day out party on Saturday, so it looks like I'll have to hold the fort with the rest of the guys over the pool table.  Hopefully they have some pesos in their pockets and we can minimize the expense of the month in paradise.

Tomorrow it's off to Tlequepaque with Ana so I'll report all our findings for what promises to be  very interesting day.

Stay tuned and enjoy the shots from today.

Do I detect some concern that there may not be enough time to do all that you would like to do before you have to leave? Are you finding that this is 'it'?
