Our design project isn't really moving anywhere. We are still trying to come up with a layout. We've tried everything....well I guess not everything because we haven't found one that works. We want to make the navigation of the space easy, yet we want it to be a little like a game where objects are hidden and the have to be searched out. Our concept hide and seek is difficult when you try to put it into a scenario with furniture.
The space we are designing has to fit areas for furniture, a reception, meeting areas, VIP, press, and storage. I think this is where my group is having the most trouble, because we want to display our company's furniture as rooms, but we also have to include rooms for the extra spaces. We do have a few things under our belt...well two...we want to use mirrors, and we want to use gloss on matte for our graphics. For example, a matte black background, with a glossy black image.
We got another new teacher on Tuesday for History of Design. She did a very different lesson today, which we actually enjoyed. She does Yoga and included that into our lesson. It was much better than sitting through a lecture. We have her for two more weeks, and we have field trips to the Alessi and Kartell museum, they are both companies that do product design. I can't wait for Alessi, hopefully they'll have a store so I can buy something.
Well I don't really have much planned for the weekend. Maybe I can get someone to go to apperitivo with me. Until then....buona sera!
