I successfully opened a can of Campbell's tomato soup! You're all probably like congratulations, you can use a can opener....it wasn't that easy....we don't have a can opener. I searched the draws, and I found something that looked like a small blunt edged sword for cooking, and in the tool box, I found a really fat wire cutter
Anna and I got to the Duomo around 4:00 and met up with the boys. There was a stage set-up for the concert, and two large tents one for CocaCola and one for Samsung. We wandered around for a bit, because we found out the concert wasn't starting until 8:00. We went to a small restaurant and got pizza. I have now become accustomed to eating an entire 6-8 slice pizza by myself (this is the third time I've done it), then we walked back to the Duomo.
We checked out the Samsung tent, they had dancing and a mechanical snowboard. I got my first free item, a Samsung Torino Flag (it was plastic, but still, it said the Olympics on it). I then hopped in line at the CocaCola tent, we could get our picture taken holding the torch, and sitting in a bobsled. I waited in line for a while and saved a spot for Rick, we then were able to get in. We found out that we would get our picture put on a pin, which was cool, and we also could get commemorative CocaCola bottles. We were just getting our pictures taken at 9:00 and we were rushing because the torch was coming through. Well it ends up that the concert had barley started, and by asking around I found out it wasn't coming through until 11:00!!
Mike, Anna, Sam, Rick and I hung out together
I got another flag, this one from CocaCola, it said Live Olympics on it. As I was looking around, I spotted a Samsung representative handing out trumpets with material flags on them!! I had to get one. I went over, but she was out, so I stalked the Samsung tent like a hawk until she brought more out, and I ran over and got one!
The torch was late, of course. They set up a path for the torch to come down, I got on the front row. We waited what seemed like forever, and finally the torch came. I got video of the torch, and also the lighting of the cauldron, or whatever it's called. It was a great night, so much fun!! When I got home, I realized I had accumulated two CocaCola bottles, pictures of me with the torch and a pin, pictures of me in a bobsled, a Samsung thunder stick, three CocaCola flags, two Samsung flags, and a trumpet with a Torino flag. What a night!
I'm still sick, and now I'm tired as ever, so I'm off to bed....I have to get rid of this cold, I can't tell whether it's getting worse or better. Ciao Ciao!!
