Anyway, this travel blog today, has to be about the amazing sights we experienced as we travelled the sea to sky highway to Whistler. I use the word experience, because the scenes are more than what you see, it's the FEEL they create. Nature at its perfection. It's like someones let you on a secret and all you can say is WOW
Right alongside the higway are the glorious waters, that shimmer in the sunlight, with the mountain backdrops. They make you just want to stop right where you are, and breathe it in, unfortunately, being on a highway makes this impossible. For all of you, who may to do this highway in the future, can I suggest doing it the other way ie: Whistler to Vancouver - there were a few bays you could pull into, and it was even more picturesque going that way, (take this from someone who nearly strained the neck turning around all the time).
On our way, we stopped at Shannon Falls Provincial Park, which is one of BC's largest waterfalls. It really was just a 2 minute walk from the carpark, and there it was in all it's glory a whole 335m of water! Beautiful. We had tried to go on the underground tour in the Mining Mueseum in Squamish, but unfortunately 2 full buses of school children had beaten us to it, and the next tour wasn't available until 3 in the afternoon. We needed to move on, but that would definitely be worth a visit next time around.
We arrived at Riverside RV resort early - mid afternoon. Just a couple of minutes from Whistler. We are parked among the autumn trees, with a veiw of snow-capped mountain, just outside our window. Even the mini-putt for the kids has the most incredible view!
So glad we chose to stop off here ... Vancouver, Whistler - the host of the 2010 Winter Olympic games.
