Housekeeping day. Yes, even when you're travelling you need one of these, and we thought we'd take this opportunity to show you what is involved in a typical day for us. Despite, all the sightseeing, there is still the 'housework'.
Breakfast time is still a hub. (Mum & Dad, I'm sure you appreciate what I'm saying here). But there's a certain amount of organisation and everybody gets fed and on with their chores. They all have certain things they need to do EVERY day, and they get to keep track of it on their charts. For this they get some pocket money at the end of the week (depending on consistency and attitude). We then have a devotion time and some Spanish words (we defintely need to put some more time into this before we hit Spain!), and then we're unhooking everything (ie: water, power, sewage), making sure everything's secured, before we hit the road
By the time we arrive back at an RV park, it's R & R time for the kids, and laundry time for me!
Today, we stocked up on some groceries, washed the RV (yes you need special places to do this!), sorted out all the thermals for the next part of the trip, and fixed a couple of odd things that needed to be seen too.
Amongst all of this, is hours that we need to spend researching the next routes we are take, where we staying etc. Even more important now as we head into colder weeks, and into the mountains. We are a bit wary about travelling this next stage through Canada and the Northern part of the States, just simply because of the possibility of snow and ice on the roads, wary of animals on the roads, and we don't want to get too cold, or our water systems will all freeze up.
As I say, we are flexible, and we have the perogative to change our minds - which for me, could be the next 2 months in Miami!
