With limited time and our lack of wheels, we opted to take a guided tour through the city. Certainly not the cheapest option, but the tour we chose seemed to give us the best value ie: full 5 hours, and included a boat trip to Sausalito, and a drive across the Golden Gate Bridge and all the infamous sights that make up this diverse city. Of course the bonus is that you get your own tour guide who got off the bus with you and whose other job seemed to be photographer!
So, yes, we started off in very wealthy Sausalito (for you Aucklanders it's similar to a Parnell), speacility shops, art galleries, and cafes. Needless to say, we didn't do any shopping there, but nice to walk around. The trip over the Golden Gate was a high point, mainly because we've seen so much of it in the movies! It was of course an amazing engineering feat in its time (and probably still is).
Cruised around Alamo Square, walked through Chinatown and did the whole photo shoot thing in Lombard Street.
Awesome day!

lack of wheels.....
Hi Gaz & family,
your blog is awesome, a great way to stay in touch. Love all the photos, wish we were travelling again. Were the Dutch around there with those Windmills? Great idea the City tour, having done the same in Europe with family in tow! I guess your RV has plenty of wheels, so assume they won't let you take them through the City, or is it simply parking the monster that would be the problem?
Tell us how you are and how it's been doing 7 in the RV and the campsites? (a bbq is always great.)
Are you on GPS or mapping it? How's the other side of the road treating you? Closest shave Gaz??
How's the coin going? Cheap to eat in the US!
Weather looks nice! (ok here too)
