We spent the morning engrossed in this little Danish village, with cobbled stoned paves, window boxes and the most mouth-watering donuts with jam! (see photos)  Sticky, sickly and way too early in the morning for something SOooo good.

We loved the shops here, and felt that we needed almost days to explore - the beautful 'antique' toy stores, unique glass blowing shops (imagine anything you can made of glass, inluding hand-bags), and wine-tasting cellars.   In fact this whole area around Santa Barbara is full of wineries - next trip this way, is adults only... you could spend days exploring wineries alone.  A beautiful quote from the Lonely Planet book says:  "this region wants to be savoured, not gulped"    and for those of you are interested, the wine over here is fantastic and cheap compared to NZ....  anyway I digress....

We headed back to the coast for our trip up to Pismo Beach and ended up spending the afternoon at Avila Beach - small & very pleasant.   So far we've not had a day of rain, and thoroughly making the most of the outdoors.

Cruised North on H/Way 101, to Morro Bay, where we parked up for the night, right opposite the beach.  Not really suitable for swimming, but the enormous volcanic rock protuding from the ocean was definitely worth seeing.
