morning it was a tearful good bye to Fran (John was last night) as we started
out on the next leg of our trip. We had a wonderful time with brother John and
wife Fran as well as a dinner and long visit with Dave's brothers, Vic (&
wife Pat) and Paul (& wife Mary). Yum, subs just stuffed full of good
meats and cheeses. Fran made sure to see us off with her excellent homemade
fudge for Dave's sweet tooth. Thanks Fran. :)
We hit Starbucks on RT 2 for lattes as we headed out of town. Yes, still
Washingtonians at heart. LOL Passed thru Newark (U of DE
there..huge complex) on the way to Maryland. We stayed on back roads to
skirt around Baltimore thus were able to enjoy some of the horse country
of MD. Rain all day so I really wasn't able to get good pictures, just enough
to remind me of what the country side looked like but not post worthy.
:( Lots of grassy rolling hills with different shades of green
We stayed overnight at Rocky Gap State Park in Flintstone, MD. Loved
it! There is a huge resort complex there with golfing, lake fishing and
swimming, chalet cabins and more. The campgrounds were laid out to
provide some privacy for each site. Bunnies and chipmunks running around
and lots of songbirds. Entertaining. It stopped raining sometime
overnight and was cool enough for a quiet good nights rest.
