Entry 7 of 15 | show all | print this entry

When we stop Babushka's (old women) surround the train platform offering traditional food and snacks as well as the typical Russian souvenirs. Were travelling on the number 10 train which only runs about once a week, so its safe to say if you get off at one of the stops and then miss it you're in trouble and stuck in the middle of Siberia. which nearly did happen on one occasion when Jamie, Julie and Bill crossed the tracks to the other platform to try and buy some vodka when suddenly another train pulled into the station alongside ours trapping them on the other side with our train due to leave at any moment. Luckily, panicking they managed to run around the front of the second train and back to ours. Unfortunately without the vodka.
