Closing my Holland book for now...

Dear all,
This will be the last story within this travelblog as my Amsterdam (Holland) adventures are coming to an end...
Half a year has gone by quicker then expected, an interesting, sometimes boring, challenging and social period back in my home country! It was great to meet my dear friends again, meet new interesting people and getting to know myself even better! life if flowing the way it should...
To keep it flowing, I said goodbye to Elsevier, the company I worked for, for 6 months. Kristen, my dear friend is taking over for me, so leave the editorial boards of the journals in good hands! Even though I love Amsterdam, I'll say it again: It truly is MY city, it is time to be on the move again. But as a (not wise, but muscled) man once said "' I'll be back!'. Much more to be discovered in the vibrate city at a later stage.
These last weeks I have met up with several people I have not seen for a while. One is my uncle Wim van Leeuwen, who has been living in New Zealand for 44 years, met him last time in NZ when I was there 8 years ago! Another one is Liv, whom I met back in Mongolia, 1.5 years ago! Good to notice we have still things to share as if no time has gone by. Also back to Drunen, the place I lived as a teenager, to visit the local pubs with Miranda and family!! In between, European Soccer, so Orange Madness in Holland as the Netherlands was playing pretty good the first matches. Living in little Turkey in Amsterdam-West I understood Turkey was playing even better...cars honking their horns, red Turkeys flags everywhere! Soccer brings out a crowd!
So what áre my plans for the near future....
I decided to cycle around Europe, first destination Czech Republic to visit Roman, my dear friend since we met back in Mongolia/China! Yes on a BICYCLE, leaving my motorbike at home this time! Feel I want to move around slower, being able to really séé the landscape and be active while doing it. This journey is going to be INTENSE in every sense. Mentally, physically and visually! A new challenge, new adventures! For how long? Probably about 3,5 months, being back in Holland beginning of November (my friend Olga will get married then).
For now I will stay in Amsterdam and my home (as I still have one now) for another few weeks, then it's time to pack up and start cycling! The preparations, new adventures and photos will be posted in a new blog: An intense cycling adventure begins...

I will miss you! I wish you all the best and lots of fun on your bike. Say hello to all the cows and other friends along the way and looking forward to reading your stories.
