Our daily sauna ritual (sauna, swim, drink, sauna, swim, shower) at 19.00 with the sun shining promised a good weekend ahead! The camping-is-going-to-close-party is on Saturday, but you can never start too early, so Friday proofed already to be a great night out as well! Giving Lom a break as she was not feeling very well, we decided to go to the nearest karaoke-bar! Practice a bit for the big karaoke evening the day after ;-))
I think I have done more karaoke here in Finland then ever before in my (young) life!
Beer went hand in hand with salmiakki korva shots! You could say we made the bar into a lively place again
Saturday we were very lucky with the weather, sunny all day! Which was good cos a lot of things had been organised! Petangue competition, Mölkky, Forerst Questionnaire, fishing competition for the kids etc. Luckily this all started in the afternoon, so I could allow myself a slow morning! I did manage to go running again (I started doing this daily since last week, cos all that beer and sausages tend to stick to me!) and proofed to be in a not-too-bad-shape after all.
Beer & Cider was already on the Day-menu for most of the people, but as I suspected a long night ahead I drank water instead! Jukka was my Petangue partner and we did not do bad at all! Although we agreed that we are better at drinking beer! Skipped the mölkky game to help Lom in the kitchen making the food for the evening. I did however participate in the Questionnaire, all in Finnish language of course, but Varpu kindly helped my out with translating them! You will be not surprised to hear me and my teampartner Emppu did not win the competition, but I tried ;-))) At least we got extra points for the original answers in the category music
What did I do in the evening......hummmm..... Dancing of course!
Even tried some Finnish karaoke songs, practice does help, got a bit better at it I feel ;-)
But also the good old (the tones are too high for me but who cares-) Abba songs!
Just in time I managed to get Pekka out of his car before fleeing the scene, and dance one last dance with me! He is an amazing person and I am very glad I had the change to meet him! Hope you will enjoy Thailand again! Hauska tavata! Kari was in charge of the karaoke and I think he did a really good job considering the music system failing regularly and the 'singers' getting more drunk by the hour! He even got to sing a few songs himself again! One of which was a duet with his wife Virpi. They really are good!! After a great night it was NOT time to sleep yet! We are in Suomi, which means Sauna!!! So yes at 05.00 o'clock a few of us did the sauna ritual again (sauna, swim, sauna, drink, drink, drink....)! I really am getting addicted to this sauna thing! It is so relaxing!
A night to remember! Tossi Hauska!
Sunday: after too little sleep and a bit of a hangover I dragged myself to Mörrin colo and found people drinking beer again, in the morning! 'No better way to cure a hangover then with the same stuff that caused it!' was the answer. Somehow I did not feel like drinking salmiakki korva though! But Varpu had some weird looking green stuff in her vaunu, so decided to give it a go and must admit, it did help! Kiitos!
After a few hours more sleep and another sauna ritual (without alcohol this time) it was time to pack my bags and say goodbye to the best campsite in Finland! Not traveling very far though, as I will be staying at Virpi & Kari's house for a while!
