Unfortunately Simone had to leave the next morning, going to Turku. But Naiara and I decided to go to Leppävirta to check out the (indoor!!) skiing hall (Kymmpi Areena). Not having done any proper skiing since my first and only time in France years ago, I was eager to try again! It's the only hall built in rocks underground, below a huge hotel.

I should have known it was not going to be downhill skiing when I read this ;-(
It would be almost impossible to dig an area into the rocks UNDERGROUND big enough to have a chairlift and proper hill! The area was built to do Nordic skiing, with small hills but nothing compared to downhill skiing. But as we were there already and it is typical sport to do in the Nordic countries, we decided to give it a go. So putting on very narrow skies with half missing at the end I am off. Well trying at least! As lots of professionals walk/slide by very fast I am trying desperately not to fall down...
This is difficult!!!! After lots of attempts to try walk/ski I choose to go in the ski-highway track! You put your skies in the 2 lanes and try to walk/slide forward, with at least no problem of getting crossed skies at any point. It supposed to be easier, but somehow I never got the balance right and my ski poles did not help either! At the same time Naiara and me were trying to move to side whenever a fast grandpa came racing past! You can amazine we had a few laughs there as well!

After this active morning we have a supermarket-bought-and-eat-in-bus-cafe-lunch!
Time to split up as Naiara wants to go to Savonlinna and I will head back to Lahti!
Chica, muchos gracias para tiempo loco! We will meet again!

The Herrasmanni camping-will-stop-party is not untill the weekend. And there are definately more interesting and beautiful places to see around here. But when it rains it is just no fun at all! So decided to go back to my 'home away from home' already. Drink a tea with Lom and Mörri again! If I hurry I might just be in time for the 19.00 o'clock sauna!
