Hello people,

I just jumped off the bike and launched myself in this internetcafe to tell you about my first motorcycle stories...

Andy and I have spend days in UB trying to buy motorbikes, which we wanted to sell again after. Arranging an ok-translater and mechanic we set out to the 'mechanical market'. After a few try-outs Andy found his bike. Mine was another story. To keep it short(er):
After 3 days, many talks, even trying bribery at the policestation I ended up NOT buying my russian motorbike, papers were not ok, but instead renting the chinese one for $10 a day (25 days).

We bought all the things at the big Black Market, Naaran Tuul, horse panniars (the big bags), basic tools and so on 01_Buying bikes!

. With hardly any mechanical skills we are going to rely on the kindness and knowledge of the mongolian people.

After setting off from Gana's Guesthouse, saying 'see you later' at Bayaraa's house, where milk was thrown in the air for good luck, getting petrol, we wanted to go to the countryside, first stop Ogiy Nuur.

Well this turned out to be delayed for a while as Andy's bike broke down a few times. Every time very nice mongolians were able to start it again, but everytime we stopped, it would not start anymore. We even spend the night camping with these mongolians who spend hours trying to fix it. Only after stripping the bike completely in Bayanhangar the solution was found: a new DYNAMO!
Well, new it not possible to get in the countryside, so we settled for a secondhand car-dynamo, inventively attached to the bike.

Two days later we were ready to finally move on and start writing our motorcycle diaries!
Camping along the way, always beautiful views. Ogiy Nuur is this beautiful lake where we stayed 2 nights and had our desperately needed bath. Off the road riding is much different from tarmak (asfalt), but so far so good. Mine keeps slipping and bouncing around, but as it is my first time, and not going at snale-speed, I'm am pretty proud of myself.

Now in Tsetserleg enjoying a nice hot chocolate and more great food at Fairfield, this english bakery/cafe! A place I will see more often these 2 days I think.

More stories and photos later!
For now...
