Hello lovely all,

I just reread my last entry and I have to admit it has been a bit short!
Living in nature keeps me away from the computer and must admit I did like not to be online too much.
But at the same time miss it as well sometimes. Promised you all some photos weeks ago, so will attach them with this entry. See it as my New Year present haha

Been flying all over the place the last month, not really enjoying my time at Bennies (short for Beneficio)...running around sorting out things for the van most of the time. As I still had planned to go traveling to India in February it did not leave me much time to sort things out in Holland, converting the van at the same time. Left me with a completely stressed feeling, trying to get things done here, racing to NL after. But now a little angel told me to relax, plan to go to India later! So away is the stressed feeling!

Xmas I spend at Bennies on the hill, not anywhere near my van, relaxing, reading, chatting and sleeping! Enjoying the sun , views and simple things like making chapatis and drinking a warm tea. Ok, I could not spend it with family at home, but we had a great talk on the phone to make up for it a bit.

So what have I been up to then, like I said before, I am now the proud owner of a Djembe drum with a NEW skin! ready to be played at new years eve! Also been curing 8 sheep skins at Steve and Kims´ place, salting them, cutting of left over meat, washing them etc. Only the final stage left now, to turn them into nice soft and warm rugs for in my van...

Live at Bennies is great. Cannot believe I am here already for 3 months! Surrounded by great and inspiring people. Ok, it is cold at times, but changed my place, the cat keeps me company, 3 sleeping bags keep me warm! Simple things fill the days easily, in between running around recycling things for my van. I want to try to turn the van into moving house with as many recycled things as possible. Already got a stove, small sink, speakers, tiles for mozaik and wood panels amongst things. Better for the environment and my wallet! Also like to be as self sufficient as can be, so I am now the proud owner of a solar panel, second battery and inverter (regulator) to create my own electricity! All to be installed shortly. Found myself a mechanic in Cigaronnes (another community on the other side of Orgiva) who fixed the leaking roof, replated parts of the floor and put in a (recycled) window on the right side! I covered all the rust (inside) with hammerite, so it is now ready to start work on the inside!
Also been working on a wood burner, made from an old gas bottle and other recycled parts! Will be the heat source in the van! Great things to learn here, and cheap as chips haha

Also been to Granada a few times to try to buy a few things for my van and recycle things. What a disaster! Kept on driving from one place to the other without any luck. People did not want to sell us things or they did not have them. Went also to the Eco-parc. You supposed to be able to get 4 things from the recycle station a month. So we get there, but are told we cannot go INTO the big containers to look for anything. Too dangerous!!!! So if I see something interesting in the middle of the container...bad luck! Only things you can reach from the side. How dumb is that! Anyway me and Yarda had fun anyway, which made it all one bit laugh! AND...
who do I meet in a DIY shop: David, a spanish guy I was hanging out with in Derby, England, 10 years ago! How funny it that!

Also decided I will do most of the work on the van in Holland though, where I have all my tools. Can by good insolation material in France on the way back! Could stay longer here, it really feels good here, but love to give a good friend a mine a hug as she is feeling a bit shit, see my family again, sort out financial/paper things and have long tea sessions with you! Who knows afterwardds I might drive back to Spain again after....all options open!

So for all of you in Holland: Watch out as I will be coming back in January!
But first: Spending New Years Eve at Bennies with food, playing music, drinking grog and lots of laughs!
I hope you all will have great night as well!
That 2009 may bring you lots of laughs and new insights!
