Living in nature, not taking the time to put myself inside an internetcafe for hours in a row...
The only reason for being absent on my website for over a month!
But now I put myself inside, trying to recap things that I have been doing up on the mountain ;-)
Time is flying but see it as a good thing really.
I am by now living in Beneficio ´on my own´ as Roman left for Africa a few weeks ago! When drumming with some great Argentina guys he got the opportunity to join them in their van traveling to Mali to find a Drum teacher and learn more. Of course the thing to do for him, however meaning that our ways will part. So 2 days later it is time for our (for now) last meditation session together, a great talk and a hug, before they set off on this new adventure. I felt sad about us parting, but also know that we will meet again some day.
So here I am living in the house on my own for some weeks already now. By this time I have met lots of people in Beneficio and of course Romans brother is still here. So not ALONE really. Doing things myself now, which means making fire (getting better at it every time :-))), cooking and chopping wood. Also sprout my own beans and trying to make pancakes from lental seeds. In between learning spanish, doing yoga and socializing. A few weeks ago it rains so much, I had to hose the water from floor inside! It was nature´s call for season change as it has been very cold in the evenings every since. So spending more time inside now. Repairing the fireplace to get some heat was needed. So we took cementi sand from the mountain nearby, mixed it with ashes and water and got ourselves a good mud to fix it. Later Led helped me to repair the chimney and I fixed something at the front so the smoke goes where it needs to go...outside!
Every friday night is Baghan night, which means meeting up in a large tipi to sing Indian songs together, hurdled around the fireplace. Would love to go to India myself soon. This plan is in th e making.. hihi
As most of you know, my original plan was to be back in Holland at the beginning of november, but plans changed over time. When arriving here in Spain, living in Beneficio I realized I wanted to stay here a longer. Been learning lots here and again taking time for discovering and healing myself. It was a difficult decision as it also ment to being there on Olga´s wedding day (8th of November). Luckily for me she seemed to understand. Tried my best to let her know I was thinking about her on this special day. See photos.
So stayed most of my time at Beneficio, but have been also part of a rainbow gathering which took place not so far from here, in a lovely valley. It was a small group of people, with its peak at Full moon. Great admosphere, cooking together, sitting around the campfire, sleeping outside. But it was bitter cold!!! So after 2 nights I choose to sleep back in ´my´ house in Beneficio again, not being much warmer, but still better. Really love the place, ´found´ a new waterspring just behind my place, created a path to it, so can now get my water from there, also have my private wash area there.
The drumming is not really happening the last few weeks, since Roman left. Most important reason being the fact that the skin of my Djembe broke, so cannot use it now. But this week I will be buying a new goat skin and with the help of Romans brother I will make it on the Djembe. Tried to practice with Carlo (an italian guy), but it is not really working. Will have to do it a different way. It will come though, part of my things-I-want-to-learn list.
I came up with a new plan, being: Cycling from South of Spain to Barcelona, visit Naiara (girl I met in Finland) for a few days, then flying Ryanair to Holland. Arriving there mid december. Ticket already booked and everything arranged. However...
Things change again as.....I bought a VAN 2 days ago!
Yep, things can go fast with me, being spontaneous as ever.
The Van (LDV 400 Convoy, 8 years old) was just waiting for me, as I felt a click with it straighaway when I saw it for sale. It turned out a british guy was selling it after only using it for moving house from the UK to here. The guy selling it is a Sufi (moslim spiritual practiser), living a humble life. One day test driving, next day had a the Beneficio mechanic check it out. All papers oke, he even had a complete list of service history on it! And only 1000 euro! ... 2 hours later, the car was mine! He even took me to a restaurant to buy me a lunch, took me home later to sort out the paperwork and had tea with him and his wife! What a great way to buy a car hahaha
Why buy a van? Well, I want to go to Holland and later to India with it....Going on my first overland trip!
So what to do now. We will see. Maybe stay here a bit longer, maybe make my way to Holland in a few weeks. I will let my feelings tell me what to do. And I will l let you know when I know ok ;-)))
Big hug from a sunny Spain...
