Making my way through Holland going South. Staying with friends and family along the way. And getting to know my bicycle. New mode of transport means new things to figure out and discover:
On the second day I heard this rattling noise at the back of my bike....oh oh problems with my precious transport vehicle on the FIRST day!! of my travels, shit! But soon I discovered that it were only the little stones that got attached to my tyre and bounced up the back of my bike! One bag fell off, now know a better way to tie my bags to the bike, packing them differently etc. Beginner's things ;-)))
Of course moving around by bicycle goes slower, but you dó see the little things I overlook when cruising past on my motorbike. example: I discovered this Jukebox museum near Sint-Oedenrode! Never knew they had one.
Good thing I choose to move around in Holland as I had to do a few more things listed on my to-do-list, re-arranging my luggage, repairing my bike-bags (yes, should have done it befóre I left!). After cycling for a few days I really felt I had to much stuff with me. Time to go through the stuff again. Extra t-shirt, my big (and heavy) camera made it onto round 2. Bike cleaner, reading stuff and extra handbag (and more) did not ;-) It did save me a few kilo. feels much better! Ironic to see my parents going on 2 weeks holidays with a van complety loaded, me trying to minimize things as much as possible, finding even smaller bottles for my toileteries...
One more day in Holland and it is time to start speaking German!
Aber das kann Ich auch sprechen ;-)
No....by bumb is fine, getting slowly into shape, loving the cycling feeling....
