The last month+ I have spent my time divided between Rudrapur Farm Life and Delhi City Life. In Delhi meeting up with old friends, seeing the sights, getting things organized and sleeping little. At the farm getting the van sorted, working on myself and having nice family evenings, going to bed early. Quite the opposite! No decision in the customs claim yet unfortunately. I am getting impatient now, ready to travel, but unable to move. At the same time grateful for the opportunity to live at this amazing nature oasis with all the support I could wish for from Bhooi and Rachel.

Hard to get to pick up from where I left things… much has happened and yet nothing major really… During the last month+ I have spend my time divided between Rudrapur farm life and Delhi city life! Not yet on the move with my van. When writing last time I was still in Delhi… somehow I always plan to come here for a few days only and before I know it, 2 weeks have passed! Waiting for my bank card to arrive … many options cross my mind, visiting Pushkar and its people again, going to see Karan in the North, chilling more with Lulu in Delhi. But my relationship break-up really got to me and I seemed unable to break free from it. So I did what felt best at that moment, leaving Delhi & its social life and return to the shanti farm.

Surrounded by the beautiful nature, lovely family, my things and my home, I realize I have to accept that things are the way there are, here and now. Easy for the things that give me joy, but oh so hard to do with things that hurt and test my patience. How to accept a break-up when still connected with the heart. How to wait and wait for a bureaucratic guy to give his verdict when there is nothing I can do to speed things up. At the same time I am trying to see what the universe wants to teach me with this…

With things out of my control….there is only one thing left to do…continue living ;-)

There are several things I wish to complete or start. And so I do.
Following up the manual therapy I realize that I have to take care of my back and the rest of my body. So finally putting the given knowledge into practice…certain yoga exercises each morning at sunrise! And it feels good. Well most of it hahaha. Also started to do mindfulness exercises, through which you learn to be more in the moment. Something I find very hard to do, with my mind  all over the place all the time! Difficult yet I wish to continue, challenging my ego and impatient mind. Trying not to fight them but ask them. A whole new thing for me! Luckily my best friend is doing the same exercises (I took it after her) so I can share this with her when feeling frustrated or inspired! At the same time there are things I have been meaning to do for loooooong… making door stoppers, creative painting on the outside of my house-on-wheels, repairing cloths, making my charms necklace, working my tarot cards, copying some diary parts just to name a few. So my days are filled with getting things done!!

In the midst of this I am enjoying the family evening film-dinners, we celebrate Babbita's B-day, Bhooi and I dismantle the leaking rear brakes, search in vain for the replacing parts, try to get the panel beater to work on the van, have the gas bottle filled and buy some more van parts…this is India…where all things take time…much more time…then in the west… impatient as I am…I am doing fairly ok hahaha

Then my bank card arrived…time to visit Delhi again (want to get it personally from the embassy cos the mail here is too unreliable!). I try my luck and travel to Delhi by train-general class again, this time mentally prepared! As if the train people want to be nice to me, none of that last time stampede is happening and I can get to my seat without a struggle or loss of personal items! 5 hours later… Phir Milenge Delhi! We meet again. And of course….my few days visit turns into weeks with the blink of an eye…

Delhi Days are always busy somehow. This time it’s a mixture of old friend reunions, getting the 'last’ car parts from Kashmiri gate market and lots of other things happening in the city that rarely sleeps….

Thanks to facebook I am meeting my old Nepali friend Naba (and his travel buddy Kevin) again! He’s on an Indian travel trip, backpacking for the first time! So nice to meet up again, last time I still had my arm in plasters and was stuck to my granny chair after this popcorn-accident ;-) As Kevin wishes to see some of the Delhi Sights I tag along with them, not seeing most of them myself yet. So we go and see the Lotus Temple, visit the Red Fort and the Masjid Mosque, wander through the streets of Chowri bazaar and Chandhi Chowk. With the City of Djinns book on my mind it makes it even more interesting!
As they are on a tight schedule, our ways split after a few but great days. I connect them with Sunil in Agra and have great hope I will meet up with Naba again in Nepal at some point. Phirri Bethola Dhai!
Saying goodbye to one, greeting another… Hedda, a Dutch friend from Kathmandu, is passing through which gives us a short but chatterbox evening together! It still amazes me that time really doesn’t make a difference with some people. It seems like yesterday when we had the bbq bonfire party on the rooftop!
More reunion time as Lila also arrives from Holland and Fawad gets his phone working again ;-)  I even see Rachel here by chance as we go and visit the Painting exhibition of her sister-in-law at the same moment! I’m impressed with her work, however without a house and low budget I cannot buy one of her paintings just now. Me and Fawad even go and see 2 other exhibitions later that week, slowly getting more into art it seems ;-)
Lulu is still in Delhi to sort out her papers! Good for me though as we can meet up again….and celebrate her B-day with a girl’s night out! Me and Mercy even manage to arrange cake & candles with the kitchen staff! A smile, boobs and some money works wonders!
One thing that I am personally very grateful about is that finally Mani takes me to his house to meet his mother. I heard so many beautiful things about her. His brothers I met before already. With my limited Hindi we try to communicate a bit. I can see that she is a strong woman, and remained this way after her husbands’ death. We share a meal together and I have them all laughing when they see my poor attempts with the juggling balls!
Within these 2 weeks I’ve also been taken out for dinners, gone to the cinema, exploring Haus Khas ruins, finally got my bank card to work (after numerous calls and visits to the bank, by my mother!), joked around with Mani, regular visits to the Everest Bakery Cafe and even assisted an Italian guy with high-speed shopping for business trousers. Just give me one of those Italian ice-creams when you have the shop running! No time to work really ;-)

Jokes aside… By now, being in India for over 2 months already, I feel myself stuck in mid-air somewhat. In anticipation of this customs claim and the van not completely finished yet, I am ready to travel, but unable to move. I feel forever grateful for the opportunity to stay at the farm for all this time in my own cottage and complete freedom to get my van organized with full support of Bhooi and Rachel, sharing beautiful moments and talks with the family… but the moment is there to see if I can get things to work for me….a bit quicker. Time to travel East, live in my house-on-wheels again, alone…

That’s it for now….from Rudrapur farm…my second home ;-)
