A great day after a bad night

. I am glad we went. The campus is incredible. I had forgotten how nice it was I. I had taken a recruiting visit there my senior year of high school for rowing. The weather has been really cold and rainy when I was there before. The weather this visit was perfect and their new boathouse is now completed. I am happy I graduated from Berkeley and I am fortunate to have made such great friends. I can’t help but wonder how different things would be if I had gone somewhere else. I certainly wouldn’t be writing this entry now. Anyways, when Janis and I returned to the hotel we showered and got ready for dinner. It was pretty late already, and just like my book warned, the people in Minnesota do go to bed early. Many of the restaurants had already closed. We managed, however, to find a Minnesota brewery open for business. With a little bit of hesitation we went in. It turned out to be a great meal. The beer, however, was not so good. Oh well! Overall, we had a good stay.
We were sure glad to pack up our stuff in the morning and get out of there. I began calling motels on the way to Minneapolis. We decided to stay at the Days Inn across from the Mall of America. We were really happy that they allowed us to check in at 10 a.m. so we could take a shower and do laundry. It had been a while since we did either one of those things. After cleaning up, we walked across the street to the biggest mall in the United States. The mall has over 500 shops, 50 restaurants, an amusement park, and aquarium. One could spend a week in there just trying to see everything it has. I like shopping, but I found the mall a little overwhelming. One thing that we decided to do while in the mall was take a ride on one of their rollercoasters. It was a little pricey- 26.00 for the 4 of us to ride one ride, but we were glad we did it. It was fun. We didn't leave the mall until after 6. When we got back to the hotel, Niko and Katrin decided to take a dip in the pool, while Janis and I went on a run around the University of Minnesota’s campus, which was a 20 min.drive from our hotel
