I have arrived in the Lone Star state for a week of work for my employer (whom shall remain nameless). Only thing I will say is that Ross Perot made his fortune from selling this company to General Motors in 1984.

I arrive at the biggest airport I have ever seen in my life. I later learn that it is the 2nd biggest in size area in the world.... I takes a 10 minute bus ride to get to the car rental depot where some thousand cars are. (I am not exaggerating)

Once there, I progress through the rental car check in point and am told to take any car in the 'express' line. I walk down the express line and all I see are the biggest, honking SUV trucks possible. This from someone that drives a Nissan Pathfinder. I settle on a Jeep Laredo that has room for 10 - thank goodnes that I am not paying for the gas on this trip!....

Most of trip involved working in the day and eating at night. Of the 'highlights' were"

Stopping to feed some buffalo and longhorn cattle at the 'farm' that my high-tech employer owns (apparently, they put animals on the vacant land so that they pay lower taxes)

Going to a monster restaurant called Big Buck. The food and beer were actually good. But the real highlight was after supper when I went next door to a sporting store called big bass that had the biggest selection of Guns, bullets and other hunting items one could ever envision. I couldn't buy a gun as I was from out of state. But the chap behind the counter said that if I were a resident then a gun could be mine in very short order. Geeez. Thank god I live in Canada....

The only real 'highlight' was a visit to the Ewing homestead at Southfork Ranch. I saw the gun that shot JR, the Ewing home and other sights of the tv show Dallas...

Finally, I need to restate that indeed 'Everything in Texas is Bigger' not necessarilty better but bigger.
