Took a cab to the hostel, which took around 15 minutes and the fare ended up to be $33. Surprisingly the taxi option turned out to be the cheapest amongst all the others, should have figured this out in may. Hostel was awesome. It was next to the central station, and was called Bounce Sydney. It had real high reviews on hostelbookers. We booked beds in a 8 bed dorms but they kindly upgraded us to a private 4 bed room. Normally u had to pay for the wifi as well, but private room has it for free!!! How lucky are we! The beds were real clean and comfortable as well
After freshening up after the long flights, we headed to Chinatown to grab a bite and look for a Citibank ATM. Didn't take us long to find the bank office, and had lunch at a underground food court at Chinatown. Had a gigantic bento lunch for $9.50! Bought breakfast for tomorrow at a Chinese bakery, and some beverages at the nearby supermarket, before heading back to the hostel.
Had wifi connection after paying the bill, and received message from a special someone whom left me a few years back to study here. I didn't bear much hope of seeing her on this trip, so it was a pleasant surprise when she asked to meet for dinner at her place.
Left the hostel around 5pm to grab some cash off the ATM and take the train to meet her, but the citi branch had already closed so I had to go without much cash with me. Bought a $4.40 one way ticket to chatswood, a suburb in north Sydney. The ride was supposed to take 20 minutes or so, and I boarded the train around 5.40pm. Around 4 stops in, I shut my eyes for a short rest, and ended up falling asleep for awhile. When I woke up, it was 6.10pm and I was at Gordon, overshot by 5 stops. I waited almost 20 minutes for the returning train and reached a little late for my appointment
It was easy finding her apartment, and her roomie and roomie's boyfriend was already preparing dinner. We had a sumptuous dinner with 4 dishes, and ended up with too much food! Had a good chat and caught up on stuff, and soon it was 9.20pm. She walked me out to the train station. We had a good chat after, walking to a froyo place to have some yoghurt. The main point was that I spoke out on something which I held back for more than 5 years, and I can say I have no regrets in life now. I wished I could stay with her for longer. She is the apple of my eye, soul of my life, and after 5 years, I am even more sure of that.
Took the train back and had a good rest.
