The hostel breakfast, sadly, wasn't as good as we expected. Just two slices of bread with ham and cheese. Not the typical Chilean hospitality we received at the other hostels here.

Got out around 10am and headed straight towards the central handicrafts market opposite Santa Lucia Hill. The stalls were beginning to open and we looked around for good bargains. I bought a globe-like pendant at 4300pesos, and two nice fridge magnets as well.

Next, we went to the Sky airline office just a few streets down. They apparently checked that the amount has been credited to my account in April. I have to go back and check my statement.

Walked along the central district, which were lined with shopping streets. Few streets past the plaza de Armas was the seafood market, where there were local people selling fresh seafood, and lots of small restaurants with English speaking waiters vying for customers. We eventually settled for one along the side, thinking that it would be cheaper. I ordered a 'premium' soup which had abalone, scallops and prawns in it. First few tastes seemed fine but it was more a shellfish soup than seafood. Lots of clams and stuff, which weren't exactly properly washed. Had tasted some sand in them.

Went to try this empanada shop which was filled with locals next door. Not sure what the commotion was about as the food was average at best.

After that we took almost 1.5 hours to find the BancoSecurity ATM to withdraw some money at no charge. Marched fast to the Baquedano metro station to meet our Brazilian friend Luis.

We took the metro to the outskirts of Santiago, in a town called Puento Alto, and got on a bus that would take us to the Concha Y Toro vineyard. We arrived there an hour ahead of our scheduled 4pm English guided tour. Explored the gift shop, which had a good collection of wines, accessories, gift boxes and apparels.

The vineyard tour was kinda short, just brought us to see the old founder's house, the grape orchard (which was completely brown and barren as it was off season), and the underground cellars. There was a short light show about the devil legend that prevented people from stealing the wine as well. Had 3 glasses of wine in total during this part of the tour.

The tour guide then brought us into a old colonial styled room with a long rectangular feast table, which 4 wine glasses and a platter of cheese lined up in front of the seats. The sommelier entered and gave us instructions on how to look, smell, and taste the wine, along with the good cheese pairings. It was a fantastic experience, the cheese went perfectly with the wine. Finished a total of 7 glasses of wine and entered the gift shop after the whole tour concluded. We were given the wine glass and cheese board to keep.

Being tipsy, I came to a decision to buy two bottles of wine in a nice wooden boxed set easily. All of us bought stuff, and took a cab back to the metro station which we caught the train back. We said our goodbyes to our lovely Brazilian friends, and went back to our hostel for dinner.
