Pillows and blankets were provided and the bed could recline to a 120-140degeee position. Simple breakfast with a ham and cheese sandwich was served, and there was music and movies played on the tv through the ride.
The ride took us south, along the coast for earlier moments and into a sandy terrain for the rest. Saw some nice sand dunes along the way where one could go sand boarding
We reached at around 3pm, and purchased our tickets for the night bus tomorrow to Arequipa. There was a free hostel pick up, and after dumping our bags we went searching for food. Found a small eatery with a 10soles set menu. They served us chicha, chicken soup, and beef with rice. Also got some tips on the lines by the owner. Walked around the streets and bought some stuff off the supermarket for breakfast.
At around 7pm we were at the Nazca lines hotel where they have a planetarium. The 'show' brought us into the small dome-like planetarium and we watched a 40 minute video about the Nazca lines - it's origins, myths, and researchers. After that, we headed out of the building to view Saturn and Titan, as well as a close up view of the Moon through a telescope. The guide was informative and described several constellations along the way. Not too bad for a 10 soles student ticket.
After the show we walked to a small eatery which had a 6soles menu. Seems to me the menus are more or less similar - a drink, chicken soup, and beef with rice.
Went back to the hostel after that, and stopped by a roadside BBQ store for the famous local beef heart. It tasted chewy and had no weird stench, but I'm afraid of inerts so I only tasted a slice of it on the kebab.
