G'Day Regular Viewers

Here we go again with the next installment in our quest to finding our inner tranquility and higher self of being! (Can you tell we have been on the wine tonight?!)

So when we last left you we were at Perth airport waiting for our humble hosts to arrive home.  Jumped in a taxi and landed on their doorstep without much ado...unlike the last taxi journeys!  Stevie met us with a beer and we thought "you couldn't be bad to this!"  The rest of the evening was spent sweating, drinking and trying to inflate what seemed like the uninflatable airbed...how Stevie got that thing up we'll never know!  Who knew he was so multi talented lol

Friday 1st February

Woke up bright and early the next day to catch the train into Perth Ah Heaven!
Ah Heaven!
!  As usual in THIS heat, not much sleep was had and so the ride was a bit dozy, so thank God for Nuala to guide us to the center!  First things first, coffee was had (by Joy) and chocolate (by Joy) and then we were raring to go!  Took a tram tour around the city taking in the little sights Perth had to offer...Sorry Perth...but you were a bit boring!  Also the fact that it was 38 degrees didn't help with the perspiration and enjoyment factor!  But the guides were very helpful and they all laughed when Joy got whacked up the side of the face with a tree!  GOOD TIMES!!

Met up with Shanta from Tasmania for a quick cappo in the afternoon.  It was great to see her again, and hopefully if we get time we'll be able to stop off in Launceston along the way to say 'Hello'!  We'll take it as it comes (The temperature there is definitely more on our wavelength at a healthy 26 degrees!)

Jumped on the train back to Fremantle to go food shopping as we had decided to thank our hosts by cooking them dinner.  A five mile up-hill trek later we were home with all the groceries and ready to party once again! A nice evening was had by all...good food (of course), good booze and good friends!  And then good night!  Heat once again a struggle so barely slept a wink. And no matter what Joy tries to tell u...it's not my fault that I am coughing up a lung and snoring every night...i'm sick :(  Awww poor Baby.. Beautiful Belle....
Beautiful Belle....
.

Saturday 2nd February

Dragged our lifeless wimpering asses outta bed to face another sweaty day (I swear i'll never get used to this heat!) and took a stroll into beautiful Fremantle center before finding the nearest bar for a bit of shade and an ice cold refreshment lol .  Spent the rest of Saturday there before the other two yahoos (Nuala & Stevie) joined us.  Of couse we had to drink veeeerrryyyy sloooooooow as the bloody drink is so expensive! Nearly killed us!  But what's a girl to do!  We'll budget better next week...

So trek home became the battle of the fittest...Stevie won by not talking (and also because he realised how many beers he had at home waiting on him!) and Joy came in a hearty second! Surprisingly I (Laura) was not last but was followed up by a wobbly Noodles (Nuala) Yipee!  After a few more rounds of drink we finally found the brainwave we were waiting for and dragged the airbed into the living room beside the fan and hey presto...Heaven! Managed to get a bit of sleep so we could enjoy our last day in Perth!

Sunday 3rd February

Decided the girlies needed to do a roadtrip since it was our last day in Perth so we loaded up "Cletus" and headed out to the open highway in search of Cottesloe Beach!  A near-death-incident later (your secret is safe with us Noodles) we arrived at the beach for some serious sunbathing...which was never had Blue skies...
Blue skies...
!  As two faders (me and Noodles) don't like to be cooked by the sun and decided that enough was enough after 2 hours!  It was a perfect beach...blue skies, golden sands and turquoise waters..and the theme tune of "Home & Away" rippling lightly on the far away breeze!

Headed back to the apartment to get lazy Stevie up to finally cook the Coq Au Vin he had been promising for the last 3 days.  Thankfully he did coz it was gorgeous!! Cheers mate!

Spent hours trying to clear the mess we had created on the poor apartment before loading up and heading to the airport for yet another flight!  Finally boarded the flight at 11.30pm and arrived in Cairns at 4.30am.  So, tired, bored and alone we arrived at Gilligan's hostel in Cairns at 5.30am...and wait til the designated 2pm check-in! Let's just say we were not happy chappies...as i'm sure you've noticed...we're the kind of girls who like our sleep!

And you'll never believe what happened next...BUT...tough...we couldn't be arsed typing anymore so you'll just have to wait!!  Will update in a couple of days as we are planning to stay here until Thursday!

J & L signing off!

Until next time...
