In the morning we took a 2 hour tour of the Paramount studios with one of our tour guides named 'Chad', oh I'm in America!
Each studio gate has huge doors called Elephant Doors, which block out the sound of all that is outside.  As we passed one of the studios where they are filming a Nickelodean kids programme, we were invited onto the set and they closed the doors.  All the set is made from wood, and most are empty from behind and only fronts.  We weren't allowed to take any pictures, the set was like being inside a strawberry smoothie, very sweet

Happy Days and Cheers was filmed at these studios.  Being the strange teenager I was, I fancied The Fonz and Sam (Ted Danson) from Cheers (also Philip Schofield and still do a bit!)  One day Woody Harrison and Ted went running around outside with only their trainers on, they stopped at some wet cement and made handprints and wrote Ted Danson and Woody Harrison were here (naked).
Michael Caine was dared by the security guards to climb the water tower, he did but then apparently got a little nervous when at the top and had to stay there a few minutes before decending.
The Godfather was also filmed here and they used one of the gates to enter the studios as part of the film where a gangster gets dropped off infront of TV studios, I've stood there I have!
They have a car park which is used for water scenes, it's emptied out and then filled with water and has a blue wall in the background to look like the sky.  The 10 commandments scene where Moses parts the sea was shot there by huges tanks being emptied into the pool from teh left and right, they then reversed the film to look like it was parting, very clever back in the day.
There was a music video being prepared for The new Super Heavy group consisting of Dave Stewart, Mick Jagger, Joss Stone, Damien Marley, AR Rahma.  Unfortunately we had to remain meters away and didn't catch any exciting glimpses.

After the tour we met with one of Mike's friends and walked along the Hollywood Walk of Fame.  It wan't the glitz and glam that I expected.  It was all a biut tacky, lots of people dressed up trying to make a few dollars and to the shops weren't anything to write home about, cheap nick nacky shops right next to the stars names.

As if that wasn't enough to fill the day, we then went on to see Rhianna in concert.  I want to be her, she is truly amazing.  I didn't know all the songs and I did feel like a bit of an idiot swaying in my spot whilst the youngens screamed in my ear and pulled out some dance moves, I save my stuff for the dancefloor!

Wowsas, what a day.

Apologies if my writing is somewhat naive, but I have so much to write about and am missing the sunshine!
