The plane ride was a lot of fun but I was happy to arrive. Aunt Jen was a little nervous about whether she would be allowed in the country--apprarently she's on some kind of list--but they stamped her passport without asking any questions! The funny thing is--they were reluctant to stamp MY passport! And I don't have any history of activism whatsoever! I mean, I was only drawn like a month ago! But Aunt Jen argued with the lady at passport control at Ben Gurion, telling them if the Canadians agreed to stamp my passport during my visit to Ottawa, then surely they could do it too!
And in the end they agreed!
We got our luggage and took a shared taxi to the Old City of Jerusalem where Aunt Jen and I were staying with her old friends the Al Jundi family.
