<Brian's brief time-tabled list of "highlights" (and of whinging)>

- Got to Jing's place a bit after midnight after a hectic train ride and train hopping to get there... new place, new train system!
- Talked to Jing and Aaron a little before taking a tram out to the city. Walked around the Marienplatz and around the city centre. Had currywurst, bratwurst and schnitzel for lunch.
- Walked through a couple department stores, which are similar to the ones in Adelaide. Theres even a few shoe stores that are 2 levels in size and filled with shoes... NIGHTMARE.
- Walked to several places including: Neues Rathaus, Deutches Museum, Residenz, Opera and Hofbrauhaus.
- Wasn't a very productive day really, but we soaked in the life of Munchin and had a relaxing day which was good.

<Lang's Extended Version>

We'll we arrived in Munich in one piece late last night. Have to say, the cheap flights are there for a reason, but I'm not sure if it's worth risking your life for! As we were coming in to land, the pilot pretty much done a 360 in the air, not to mention, dropping the plane in altitude quickly, giving you the similar feeling you get when you go on the giant drop rides.. No wonder the Europeans applaud when the plan lands!

Anyway, once we got off the plane and collected our gear, we power walked to the train station, stopping only to ask and buy a 4 zone ticket to get to Jing's place. Unfortunately, we had missed the connection Jing suggested, so had to wait a little longer for the next.

The train system appears to work like clockwork here, which was great! We eventually made it to our 'home' for the next 3 nights at around 12.30am.

The next morning was a lazy one. We got up at around 9am and chatted to Jing and Aaron for a while before heading out to check out the sites.

We took the tram to Karlsplaz and tried to find our way to Marienplaz via the underground, only to get lost by gong down one elevator, going up another, and then going down the one on the other side again!

Oh well, decided to hike it there instead and eventually stumbled across Marienplaz. We were awed by the size of the Neues Rathaus - or New Town Hall. It was a gothic looking building that has the Glockenspiel on it, however, we had just missed the performance as we got there just after 12.. It usually rings at 11, 12 and 5pm each day.

The rest of the arvo was spent walking around nearby, seeing the Deutches Museum (from the outside, as we didn't really have enough time to see it all), the Residence, Opera and Hofbrauhaus.

We made it back to Jing's at around 6.30pm and done a load of washing before spending the rest of the night trying to update our blog online, but it wasn't very productive!
