Ayers rock was amazing today!!! It sticks out like a sore thumb i couldnt stop looking at it, its so big!!! when we first arrived i was staring at it so much that i nearly crashed the car into an oncoming vehicle lukily we managed to swerve back onto my side of the road! What a fright everyone got!!! We did a few short walks around the base of the rock, it's a very spiritual place for the aboriginal people. We also got a good spot at the sunset lookout, was great, the rock was yellow and it changed colour to orange, red, dark red, shadow and then the sky behind it turns into a horozontal rainbow, excellent stuff
We then went back to the campsite and played a bit of football and had dinner, danielle is quite a good footballer has a good touch and is both footed
The car has started to play silly buggers now.... it keeps overheating so we will just have to see what happens!!
We got got up really early again this morn and went and watched the sunrise at ulur, was pretyy cool almost like sunset but in reverse! The car is still playing up, the tempreture guage keeps going right up into the red, well overheating, so we checked it and we notice the small pipe that comes from the radiator to the collant bottle has a hole on it! so we botched it and taped it up but to no success the car still was over heating! so we decided to take it to a garage at Yulura, the guy had a quick look at it and told us it would cost... starting price of $1500 dollars to fix so we were like HUM i dont think so... he was wanting to get it shipped back to Alice then shipped back and told us it would take a week to fix, he said our best option would be to just leave the car and get a flight back to Alice and buy a new car, so i said how about if we just chance it back to Alice do you think we will make it? he goes cant say that you will make it but i dont think you will....i was thinking no way am i giving up on the car that easy, after all the car was still going so we just filled the radiator up with water and decided to chance the drive 40k away to Kata Tjuta... and back! we made it lol Kata Tjuta was fun... we did the valley of the winds walk which was a 7.5k walk through the olgas... we then did a short walk afterwards where we saw a wild camel :) excellent stuff, we then had to fill the car up again with water and we did make it back to yulara to our campsite :) so now we have decided to give the 500k drive back to alice a right good go!! Just gotta fill up all our containers up with water! Hope for the best!
