On the way to the Louvre, we stopped at a local food stand and bought egg and cheese baguettes
At night, we climbed the Arc de Triomphe. This is a victory arc built by Napolean to celebrate one of the largest battles France ever fought (I forget which one). Then we strolled down Champs Elysees, and ended up for dinner at Cafe King George V. The French sure know how to cook their Duck. Yesterday, Sofia's duck at Les Bouquinistes was excellent as was my lamb (even Sofia liked my lamb and yes you read it right - she ordered duck). So tonight, I decided to order duck and though it was not as good, it was better than what we are used to in the US.
Sofia has surprised me in that she has climbed every tower, narrow passage or height that one could think of. You should have seen the look of terror on her face as she descended down the narrow winding staircase at Notre Dame yesterday.
This is one of the 100 plus rooms of painting
We spent half the day at the Louvre, looking at sculptures and paintings. I must admit that the Mona Lisa was smaller than I expected. Even though we spent half the day there, I can safely say that we didn't even see a fifth of what this former palace had to offer. Afterwards, we had coffee at Cafe Louvre.Outside the Arc
