Today was the day we decided to get hardcore about seeing London. So we started super early - 7a! Thats early for us. Really early. And guess what. Being a Monday, a bank holiday, everything was closed. No breakfast anywhere. And it was raining. So we walked around, and finally found a Coffee Republic, where we enjoyed egg sandwiches and coffee.
At lunch time, we had fish and chips at a local pub while watching the test match between England and New Zealand. Then we headed over the Harrod's at Knightsbridge for some afternoon tea and scones.
At night, Chehnaz invited us to dinner at their place where she served Yorkshire pudding and vegetables - a local favorite.
Great Wet London Weather
After a quick train ride over to Picadilly, we took a hop-on, hop-off bus tour with Big Bus Tours. However, we regretted it almost right away as the rain prevented us from sitting in the open air at the top of the double decker bus and downstairs, the seats were wet and cold. To top it off, there was a 10km marathon in the city, so the bus would not stop at some key points of interest. After 2 hours and sites like Trafalgar Square, London Bridge, London eye and the Tower of London, we decided to ditch the bus and got off along the banks of River Thames. Another Pic w statue
We crossed the bridge across River Thames and sprinted through Parliament park in an effort to get warm. Along the way, we took some nice pictures of the Parliament Building and Big Ben. Westminster Abbey
Finally, we visited Westminster Abbey. Sofia seemed to have lost one of her red gloves there, but we later recovered it by one of the tombs. At lunch time, we had fish and chips at a local pub while watching the test match between England and New Zealand. Then we headed over the Harrod's at Knightsbridge for some afternoon tea and scones.
At Malik's for English Dinner
