I've been in Vegas over a month now, which is the longest I've spent in one place since leaving England and beginning to think I've been here too long. Not getting anywhere at the poker table. It's like an emotional roller coaster. One day I'll go on a bit of a winning streak, be feeling great and thinking how much I love Vegas and how easy it is to make money here. Then because I'm winning I'll start playing more recklessly and get impatient and go and lose it all back the next day and get pissed off thinking how this place will chew you up and spit you out, leaving you wanting to come back for more. I was sat down at a 15/30 limit game at the Bellagio a couple of days ago, yeah that's how bad it was, I was playing a limit game. With my last $100 in front of me I thought when I lose this I'm giving up and getting out of this place, when lady luck saved me just in time. I caught a run of cards and one hand came up where me and some guy were raising each other after all the cards came out and I was holding the best hand (Ace high flush). I couldn't work out what he had but didn't care as I couldn't lose. After about the 8th raise he looked back at his cards, laughed and said "actually forget it I looked at my cards wrong". He thought he had the hand I was holding and he folded after giving me a couple of hundred dollars. If only it was always that easy. That was one of the good sessions I'm talking about and ended up cashing out $1400 after being down to my last $100 at one point.

Most of that of course has gone back where it came from. Moved back into the hostel for about the 5th time on Friday after staying downtown at Binions last week. Met some guy from Vietnam who's staying in the same room as me at the hostel. Spent the day going round with him gambling. He was telling me about how he lost 10 grand in 20 minutes once on roulette and blah blah blah. Heard it all before. I couldn't really understand him and he's a little bit ummm, what's the word? Strange? Like this morning for instance when I woke up and he's stood by my bed hitting me in the leg telling me to get up because its time to checkout and he's rambling on about "trake sshhhittyy holiday" next week or something. I didn't have a clue what he was talking about and after he said it about ten times I eventually worked out he was on about thanksgiving. Still don't really know what his point was.

It's weird to think that this time in two weeks I'm going to be back in the UK. I'm actually in mixed feelings about it, which surprises me because I didn't think I'd be looking forward to it. It will be great to see friends and family again and not living out of a bag or have to share rooms with crazy Vietnamese guys. But I know I'm going to get that itch to get out and go traveling again after a while. But anyway heres to the last two weeks of my trip and to the trake sshhhittyy holiday.
