Been a while updating this thing I know and I've got about a million photos to put on here but the internet is too expensive here and as the saying goes time is money which was never truer in a place like Vegas. In fact if time equaled money I'd be a millionaire by now with the amount of hours I've put in. After the first week here it was going really well. After grinding it out at the lower limits I was up about $2000 then I took a gamble and sat down in the 5/10 NL game which was bigger than my bankroll allowed. I knew that it was asking for trouble but as Mike says in Rounders "If you're too careful, your whole life can become a fuckin' grind". So I took a chance playing in a big game which I realised I was in way over my head when some guy comes along with 100,000 dollars and sits down. Yeah 100 grand I couldn't believe it, he had a stack of white chips which were worth $5000 each and Im sat there with just over $1000. Just one of his chips covered every penny I have in the whole world. Up until that point the biggest stack at the table was $15,000. The thing was he wasn't even any good, bluffing every pot he was literally giving money away! Unfortunately not to me because I couldn't catch a goddamn single card. Yes I know what a lot of you are thinking. You gambling degenerate how could you piss it all away like that and you're probably right, but the way I see it I made my money playing poker and its when you meet rich people like that, you realise how easy money is to get hold of, of course you need some (lot) of it in the first place.

Anyway, the beginning of last week I moved into the Sahara hotel for a week and after losing everything the thought of giving up and coming home crossed my mind. For like a second. I took the last 200 quid out of the overdraft in my bank account and have been slowly VERY slowly grinding it back out and building my bankroll back up over the last week.

Been here just over two weeks now and really beginning to love the Vegas vibe. The 24 hour drinking, the great attitude everyone has because they're on holiday. The way people dish out $100 notes like there loose change. The people you meet (like last night for instance met a woman who used to date one of Elvis' body guards). Everyone here has a story to tell. Goes without saying I'll be back many times in the future. Feel like I'm becoming more of a local rather than a tourist. Think its the longest I've stayed in one place since on Phi Phi with Luke. After moving out of the Sahara hotel last week I've checked back into Sin City hostel for a week (cant afford the hotels anymore). Haven't done that much tourist stuff. Went to see a topless vampire (?) show a few nights ago which was pretty cool and was quite funny when I turned up to find myself sat at a table with a family celebrating a 21st birthday. I was quite drunk at that point and it was all a bit surreal. Still want to see a Penn and Teller show and the grand canyon before I leave.

The plan at the moment is to bring my flight forward so that I'm back on the 1st December back in time for a uni reunion. Will be great to see everyone again
