After leaving Taupo on Saturday we stopped of at Tongario national park which is where the Lord of the Rings was filmed and saw the volcano/mountains they used for Mount Doom and Mordor. We also went on another walk. You think with all this exercise I'd be getting fit by now. Not the case.

We spent Saturday evening in a place called River Valley which is an isolated lodge in the bottom of a Valley, which is a really scenic, chilled out place. They run all sorts of outdoor activities and Sunday morning 15 of us went white water rafting down grade five rapids. That didn't mean anything to me either but apparently its the highest grade you can do commercially. Our raft was the only one that flipped. Twice. Infact I think we spent more time in the water than in our raft. Apart from almost drowning had a wicked time.

We left River Valley after we got back from the rafting and got into Wellington yesterday evening. L.J (our bus driver) informed us Wellington is the Southern most capital city in the world and built on a fault zone which means a major Earthquake is just waiting to happen. Fingers crossed I'm not here when it does.

We have two nights in Wellington which is "sweet as" because every part of my body is aching right now and had the first lie in today for ages. Although I never thought I would be calling 10am a lie in, I remember when it meant not getting up until most people were coming home from work. Tomorrow we leave for the South Island...
