Road Trip!!!!

Yesterday we picked up our campervan which we'll be spending the next two months living and sleeping in. It turns out Luke can't legally drive it because he's only 20 so me and Dave are the drivers. Due to the fact that I haven't drove for four months and the biggest thing I have ever drove was a little van which I ended up reversing into a wall I wasn't particularly keen to drive it first. Neither was Dave so we had to toss a coin to decide who was going to drive, I won so Dave took first shift. We decided to head into Fremantle, which is still in Perth, to do a bit of sightseeing. When we got here we parked up and had a wander around. Saw the old roundhouse, met an artist then went shopping to stock up on food and booze. Only when we came out of the supermarket we couldn't actually remember where we parked our van. We eventually stumbled across it after lugging the shopping around the streets of Fremantle.

01 - Our home for the next two months

We ended up parking the van in some public car park, had a few beers then me and Dave found the only place that was still open at 10.30 and serving alcohol. When we got back we realised how small the van actually is with all three of us sleeping in there. We played a poker game to decide on who sleeps where and Dave got top bunk. Me and Luke had to share the double bed. I don't know who got the worse deal. Still actually managed to have a good nights kip despite the fact that it was freezing this morning and Luke didn't help matters by deciding to get up at 8am. Although he has been a pretty good cook so far making some Pasta beans and Cheese last night and a Bacon sandwich this morning which I haven't had in over three months which was lush.

02 - Learning to drive the van

We're planning on heading North later on tonight, with the idea to get to Cairns (about 5000km away) in the next three weeks and then spend longer on the East coast. If we actually manage to survive 60 days living in a thing the size of a dog kennel I'll be impressed but supposed we'd better get used to slumming it for now and not having luxuries like a shower and toilet. If you never hear from me again its because we've got lost in the outback or some mad axe man has found us by the side of the road in our camper van. Bye for now!
