Well I'm pretty sure that I have got the value out of my rail pass which expired yesterday. Last Thursday I left Emma's house in Kagoshima at about 9.30am and arrived in Matsuyama at about 6.30pm (which made me 2 and a half hours late to meet Kate). I probably travelled about 1000km (600 miles) in 9 hours on various trams, trains, coaches and bullet trains, and all Iit cost me was 2500 yen (13 quid) for the coach from Fukuyama to Imabari. That journey in Japan itself would have probably cost well over 100 pound, and I only paid 300 pound for the rail pass which Ive been using the last 3 weeks. Bargain!

I was originally meant to be on a flight from Tokyo to Bangkok right now. However as my plans so far have been pretty much made up as I go along, I've decided to stay another week in Japan with Kate, who I really wanted to see again after meeting her a couple of weekends ago because quite frankly shes awesome. Although I was supposed to be meeting my brother in Thailand today I'm sure Luke can manage a week on his own.

Saturday night went to Imabari with Kate and the other JETs for Veronika's birthday and we all stayed the night at Charlene's house (Beginning to remember names now). It was most of the same people who I had met a couple of weekends ago when I went out with Roz. Met an Irish guy called Neil who arranged for us to go to an Irish theme night in a bar which was very crowded when we arrived and probably wasn't any bigger than an average sized living room in the UK. Was good laugh though. When we arrived in Imabari train station earlier that night me and Kate met a Japanese lady who offered us a lift into town and when we said we would wait for our friends. She left only to come back 5 minutes later with another Japanese lady who also had a car and explained they would give us all a lift. Although we didn't know how long the others were going to be they gave Kate and Neil their phone numbers and left. Later on in the evening, they showed up in the bar we were in. This time they turned up with a Japanese guy. Got the impression they were being a little bit "too" friendly and if I wasn't in Japan I would have been worried why these people were trying so hard to get to know us. Of course I didn't have a clue what they were saying because they could only speak Japanese. So Kate was doing all of the conversation. Then they bought us both a drink so I didn't care what their motives were even if something was fizzing in my glass. Free alcohol is free alcohol! Sunday was too hungover to do anything productive as usual.

Spoke to Roz as well who had good news. She said that she had got my digital camera back from being repaired in Tokyo. Can always rely on the Japanese. In England it would have taken about a month just for someone to look at it. Also got some photos developed from a disposable camera I've been using so will hopefully be able to get them scanned in and get some photos put up on here.

Don't think I'm going to be doing much Japanese stuff this week and quite frankly happy to just chill out and spend some time with Kate. The last month I've been on my feet more than I have in the last year and quite frankly I'm knackered. Also Kate has Internet so whilst shes at work I might play some poker (if I can remember how) and HOPEFULLY replace some of my very quickly depleting funds. Either that or deplete them some more!
