On the way to Leavenworth, we went off the beaten track a few times and we attempted to drive up to top of one of the snow capped mountains. It was awesome. Had a moment where we thought we were going to fall off the cliff because of the ice covered roads, but we made it down alive. It was unfortunate we couldn't get up to the top because of the ice covered roads. Go figure...Shayna's Aunt Nancy saved us by sticking two twigs behind the wheels of the truck so we could get some traction and back down off the ice safely. It was interesting indeed.
Oktoberfest in Leavenworth was nice. Didn't drink any beers though since were weren't beer drinkers. Tried some german franks that were 'eh' at best. However, we did have fun walking around and seeing this Bavarian town nestled in between these awesome mountains. We then spent the night in neighboring Wenatchee. It was nice there too. Just amazing the sights you see when driving around this little town. We had fun. That night, I learned a new card game called "Oh Shit." Unfortunately...I can't bleep this out since that's the actually name of the game. It was fun and I'll need to teach you guys one day. =O)
Oh yeah...forgot to mention that Shayna's Uncle Darryl let me drive his truck so I actually drove on part of the trail down from the snow capped mtn! More thumbnails ...
