Vegas and the Grand Canyon!
Vegas! Wow! The city you visit to check out hotels! Casinos, shows, restaurants with ridiculous servings (our BLT was more of just a B with its 10cm of bacon!), and all kinds of amenities fill the strip and old downtown area, ranging from the poshest of the posh to the dodgiest of the dodge (see Marilyn Monroe photo). The trip was short, but endlessly entertaining. So much to see and do, and just wandering provides hours of diversion. We stayed at the Mirage for our 3 nights and loved it to bits! Excellent service and great facilities, a killer bed, and an awesome location...it was a great place to base ourselves out of. That hotel in particular is filled with Beatles paraphernalia, including the Revolution lounge, and Cirque du Soleil's "Love" Show. We didn't get a chance to catch one of the big shows, opting instead for a fabulous (except the sketchy false-start) flight over the snowy Grand Canyon , but we did get to enjoy some of the various free shows that each hotel puts on...from the acrobats at Circus Circus , to the sexy boys and girls at the Rio and Treasure Island, to the fountain and volcano shows at the Bellagio and Mirage. The rest of the time was spent gambling, drinking, and just plain gawking at everything around us.
