Among the many sights in Wien that we visited, our first was the famous Cafe Pruckel, where we enjoyed an espresso and tea to start the day! From there, we headed to St Stephansplatz with its towering gothic church, and old streets. We checked out some of the old buildings, and stumbled across a beer festival near the university. Later, we tried to squeeze through the crowds at the busy naschmarkt, before heading out to the equally busy Schloss Schonbrunn, where we learned all about Sisi.
On our second day, we visited the Obere Belvedere, which contains some of Gustav Klimts works (such as "The Kiss"), and then took a lengthy walk around the Ringstrasse (enjoying ice cream and more radler!).
On our last day, we checked out Kunsthaus Wien, and its Hundertwasser exhibition, followed by the huge Albertina museum, which was hosting a Rembrandt exhibition at the time.
Our stay in Vienna was complimented by the great hostel where we stayed, next to a palace, and looking out over the city...it included a decent breakfast, and, of all things, a mini-golf course! (Which Fiona won at!)
