So...still reeling from the loss of my bag we arrived in Lima that evening.  After being told by many people that Lima was not a nice place at all, we hadnīt even planned on visiting the city just going straight to the airport. Things change huh! We stayed in Miraflores outside the city, and to be honest it wasnīt all that bad a place!
Threw a hissy fit at the bus company and demanded some money as they were responsible for my luggage.  Of course they fed me some bull about not being responsible and it being stolen and still under investigation so I just kept saying "no comprende" til they finally offered me the princly sum of 200 soles, about 70 US dollars.  Not a whole lot but better than nothing I thought! So two days were spent in Lima buying t-shirts and underwear and a rucksack and shoes. Iīll have some interesting garb by the end of this trip I say. At least I love shopping! So as I mentioned we were flying to El Calafate in Argentina on the 10th of April. That morning I had a email saying one of our flights was cancelled.  Finally I realized that the flight had been at 12:35 am   on the 10th so Iīd missed it -oops! Almost having a meltdown at this point I asked the guy running the hostel to call the airline for me and he booked us on the same flights for the next day.  On arriving at the airport they didnīt even charge us for changing the flights so it was a lucky escape!!
