! We only live about 20 minutes from each other and we meet for the first time in Ireland.
I go home to take a nap. Wake up to Megan's text saying that all the other COST students decided to stay in and order pizza, so Megan and I went out to dinner at the Laurels and split a delicious roast chicken breast stuffed with cheese and spinach and potatoes cut up in a tasty sauce on the side. Saw one of the teachers I work with at the Laurels so I introduced her to Megan. We moved on to the fabulous Courtney's again and met up with some people we met the night before. They came to Killarney for the weekend to celebrate one of their friends going away to Australia to live.
We move along and go dancing again. I left the bar when it closed and walked back in the rain to my apartment. I heated up some leftover pasta and slept...slept...slept!
Friday night I went to Murphy's pub to meet 4 other girls in my teaching program! They are all so nice. Three of them are from OHIO! The fourth is from Illinois. After a pint of Guinness, dinner, and many conversations about the different schools we are working at...we moved to Courtney's pub! Met some people there and went onto The GRAND. There was a 5 Euro cover, but the band was amazing! I asked the band for their card, because I didn't know how often it would be in Ireland that I hear a terrific band that covers Talking Heads, Pink Floyd, Bob Marley, and Kings of Leon! When the front bar closed and the band stopped playing...doors in the back opened up to another bar with a huge dance floor ("night club"). Some of the girls left, but Megan and I stayed to dance. We walked back to my apartment to crash. She had to leave to go meet a new COST program student teacher at the bus station. We all walked around downtown in the rain. Turns out the new member of our crew is a boy from Canton, Georgia
