Woke up late again. Since I was going to have to ride my new bicycle to school every morning, we thought it might be a good idea for me to practice my bike route. I also needed to time the route. Because, when I'm getting ready in the mornings I need to know whether I should start boiling a cup of coffee at home, or rush to school for my morning cup of joe.
Thinking it was going to be about 20 minutes...I start biking my path and mom and dad decide to walk to a shop and meet me at the 4 star pizza when I return from my school. I reach the road my street is on in less than 5 minutes. I get to my school 3 minutes later. An 8 minute bike ride to school every morning is not too shabby! I get back to mom and dad and it only took me 15 minutes round trip. While I was gone dad decided to book us for a Jaunting Car tour through the National Park!
We ate at a little cafe and I had some sort of grilled chicken club with yummy melted cheese. Irish food is so good!! Or maybe the chefs make the same things as American chefs...but in Ireland they don't have the knock-off brands (American versions) of the ingredients. Gouda cheese is so much tastier in Ireland!! I LOVE GOUDA!..It's also about 3 Euro as compared to the 12 dollars I pay back home.
At 1:00pm we head off on our Jaunting Car tour...unfortunately we got the oldest, most weathered looking man as our tour driver/guide. Mick was his name. His horses name was Mila...Mick and Mila. Mick was a smoker so because he was driving his smoke blew back on our faces almost the whole ride. The Finger family might have been the only non-smokers in the town. Mick yelled at everyone walking on the street. He was a crazy man. He also kept hitting on my mom while my dad and I were right there. Mick told me that I might have a new father soon...I said no thank you. Why would I ever want a new father when I have the BEST DAD IN THE WORLD!!! After all...I am in Ireland all thanks to him! :) Although Mick was quite creepy..he was a pretty good tour guide.
Mick had a saying..."Guinness is the best beer because it makes you see double, but feel single." We got a pretty good laugh at that one! He also said that same joke 2 more times on the ride.
My first tour into the Killarney National Park was beautiful despite Mick and his shenanigans
I can't wait until the weather gets nice again so I can go cycling in the park!
We got back to the square and decided to go check out potential places for me to move into during the 10 days in February that my fabulous apartment has been pre-booked for.
Some of the places were alright..but I think we decided on Castle Logde...ONLY if a room doesn't open up at Park Place (my apartments). I DON'T WANT TO MOVE! I love my place!

After all of that...we drove around and explored the down. We went to St. Mary's Cathedral, which is right behind my apartment! I can hear the bells ringing every morning. The Cathedral has the second tallest church steeple in Ireland. We found the Psychiatric Hospital...huge rock building. So neat. I took pictures of the rooftops of town, because the sun was setting and the view from the hospital is gorgeous with the mountains in the back ground. I just might have to go spend some time up at that hospital.
