Hong Kong stopover

CHRIS AND HELEN :
We arrived at Hong Kong International on Saturday afternoon. Very little sleep on the flight due to the novelty for all of flying and the large selection of films and games on our personal screens. We were all impressed with the coach that transferred us to the hotel - air conditioning, leather seats!! The hotel was also top class. We quickly got settled into our rooms, again all the little goodies provided much fascination - not only soap and towels, we had shampoo, shower gel, toothbrush, razor and a shower cap. Boys were banned from the mini bar though!!
In the evening we took a walk through Victoria Park, very impressed with all the sports pitches and courts. We then spent ages looking for somewhere to eat, up to the top of Time Square, down again, through various streets, eventually found a very pleasent chinese restuarant with excellent food. Our English tastes obviously surprised some adjacent tables - looks of horror as the dishes piled up around us!!
Come our third day, we've enjoyed Hong Kong but can't wait to get to New Zealand.
Our Hotel had a great rooftop pool, 31 degree C, outside temperature was over 32 degrees throughout the day!!!
GARETH : Hong Kong was fun we had a great time in the hotel and we went to a market. I bought a few souvenirs. I got a remote control helicopter, I broke it the next day, I'm tryin to fix it at the moment. I bought a few more things as well like gifts for some people. It was very hot there and we found it hard to leave the buildings and transport as they were all air conditioned. We went to Lantau Island and up the hill there was a monastry and the biggest Bhuddha in the world. I had a great time there and have to go now - I'll talk to you all later so goodbye.
BEN : It was a bit of a disaster on the aeroplane as I was sick TWICE but that did not stop me from the experience of looking out the window over Asia and seeing all the dusty areas. I had an excellent time on the aeroplane except from the unfortunate moments, because there were many games and movies to entertain myself with. The food that the crew served was very nice. After the long 11 hour fight we finally arrived at Honk Kong. The airport was a man made island, so we got a bus to take us to Hong Kong Island. It took us over 3 bridges that were very long until we actually got to the hotel. The following day I had a very late start because I woke up in the hotel about 11 O'clock. In the afternoon we hopped into a cable car, went over many huge hills to go to Nging Pong village where there was a monastary I saw the biggest buddha in the world! IT WAS ABSOLUTELY MASSIVE!
