We were awfully tired after a twelve hour work day yesterday. We got home at around two after working at our catering job and fell asleep quite quickly. Working here is much different than working in the states. It seems so much more laid back and people are not so politically correct. Our superiors swear quite regularly and make crazy jokes. Like I said before, we love the catering job because there are so many interesting people from all over that work for the company. We all got a beer to wind down at the end of our shift and enjoyed some time to socialize and unwind with all of our co-workers.

There was an important soccer game in Wellington last night--New Zealand All Whites versus Bahrain. Apparently it was a game to determine who would go to the world cup. We were disappointed to miss all the festivities and celebrations following the game after New Zealand won, but definitely needed the money and enjoyed our time at work anyway.

Today was pretty lazy considering how late and long we worked yesterday. I got up and went out to the farmer's market (called a veggie market) in Wellington at around noon to get my fruits and veggies for the week Darth

. I found going to the farmer's market it quite a bit cheaper to get fresh produce and it is really popular in the city considering the typically high prices of groceries.

There was a santa parade today right outside our apartment door. We didn't really have any clue what was going on having a santa parade so early in the holiday season, but Danny, Mari and I went to go check it out anyway. It was definitely no Holidazzle parade, but was really interesting because we got to see some of the members of the All-Whites soccer team who had just won their big game. There were lots of funny floats of kid-type story or tv characters (many of which we didn't know). One thing that was really different about this parade was the different ethnic groups that had a float in the parade. We saw a Sri Lanka float, a Chinese float, a British float and even an American float. We definitely don't do that kind of thing in the states, but enjoyed it nonetheless. The parade ended with Santa Claus, of course.

I spent the rest of my day shopping down on Lambton Quay. The clothing stores are pretty (actaully VERY) expensive in the downtown district, so I didn't really buy anything but had fun trying clothes on. New Zealanders seem to have a distinct sense of style. Danny and I are sure we'll be buying a short leather jacket before we're through here in Wellington.
