I was excited to meet"JD" , guitar tech extraordinary and stage manager for Steel Pulse whom I was traveling with to Buenos Aires. Emailed Rich in NYC, mentioned I'd never met JD so please describe him to me so I will know him. Well in his eloquent way Rich described JD as "pure rock & roll, tattoos and piercing. I'm in line at the American Airlines counter and a guy walks up clearly meeting the description, and JD and I meet. JD is hilarious and a great all around dude; I'm actually looking forward to this trip with him. He has a lot of luggage though.
We finally make it to the AA counter and we're told our flight to Dallas will be delayed, which now makes our flight to Buenos Aires a wash as we will miss our connection. We put our heads together and get AA to put us on a flight to Houston via Continental where we can connect without skipping a beat. Problem solved? hardly...this is where it gets interesting. We call Rich in NYC who tells us most of the crew and band are delayed because of weather in the Midwest which is screwing everybody in America who was trying to get somewhere. We head to Continental, all looks Rosy and we settle into the Delta sky miles lounge( courtesy of Amex platinum) for the free beers(JD), free apple juice, pretzels and all the bad news we could watch on the plasma TV screen.
JD gets up to check flight status and we're now told our flight is delayed...again.
So to make a long story short we end up back at the AA counter where we are sent home and told to come back tomorrow. get a load of this travel day I have tomorrow....San Diego to Los Angeles connecting to Miami, where we lay over and continue on to Buenos Aires arriving on Wednesday morning at 10am. Another night in my bed at home and more to come tomorrow. Peace.
