Well I had heard that Vientiane was not he most exciting place in the world but as I needed to pick up a Vietnam Visa anyway I decided to stay for a few days. I met up with Brett and Candice again (how surprising) and we went on for some more Beer Lao along the Mekong. Good crack to meet up with them again and say goodbye as they were heading on south to Si Phan Don.
Got my visa sorted pretty easily (I think I was the only person getting a visa there all week) and strolled around the city a bit. It really does not seem like a capital city - no many people working and lots of cafes with Expats and Laotions relaxing any day of the week. Actually quite relaxing few days there.
But after a quiet few days made the decision to head down to Thakek and do the 'Loop'. PTO
