Next I headed over the sort stretch of water to Koh Tao. This island is famously one of the biggest centres of dive training with over 100 dive schools on an island that is only 21 square km. Did my PADI open water qualification with a German girl and Big Dave from Leeds. It was absolutly amazing and I will be doing a lot more diving it the future (but only when the water is 30 degrees like here :).
The island is pretty cool actually, lots of bars and restaraunts along the length of Sairee beach. Could have stayed longer to investigate a bit more but after a few more fun dives (saw a whale shark) and a few piss ups with the gang from the dive resort its time to head on back to Bangkok.
PS: the trigger fish try to bit your head, arms and fins whenever you enter their patch. Alot more scary than the shark which is actually a big softee!
