We're on Ko Phangan now! Home of the infamous Full Moon parties we got here on the 4th & the party was on the 6th, the beach resort we're staying in is lovely, its a little (really little) bungalow right on the beach so every morning we wake up to a beautiful view of the sea! The main party area on the island is Haad Rin, thats also where the best beaches are. Our place is about 10 mins away on a beach called Ban Tai, its not as nice a beach but it does the trick!
On our first night here we went to Haad Rin to check out the pre full moon beach parties. The beach was filled with people doing fire poi and a flaming skipping rope competition. This is when we started drinking buckets.... literally BUCKETS (like the ones you used to make sandcastles with) filled with drink

! They also have a mop buckets sized version (like the ones you wash the floor with) but we didnt try them.... yet.Then afterwards we went to a crazy pool party, there was dancing on the tables, dancing in the pool and even people dancing on a a floating dance floor in the sea! It was great fun. The next night we met up with the lads from home that we bumped into on Ko Samui, and we'd say that there is probably alot of extra space in Ireland at the moment coz this place is FULL of Irish people! as it was the night before the moon party we decided to take it easy before all the full moon crazyness.... that all went out the window when we met up with the lads and we all got jarred on the beach.
We had a brilliant time on the night of the full moon party. The night started when we met up with all the lads at their hostel.. a few buckets and a LOT of fluerescent paint later we all headed to the beach - glowing in the dark and pissed! Sarah also got the chance to put her degree to good use painting every body! Oh, and Ferg bumped into to one of his mates from college walking down the road! Mad! The beach was jam-packed with people, there was even an area for people to sleep for when they are "tired" it was crazy but really enjoyable.
The next day we woke up a little worse for wear and didnt do much (as you can imagine!)
Tomorrow morning we are headin to Krabi, on the west coast of Thailand so we'll talk to you again from there.
