Never, EVER drive in this town. My Dad and I spent two hours driving in circles trying to find our hotel. We never did find it, but we did find somewhere else very nice. All the surface roads in this town run East-to-West and most (but by no means all) of the tunnels-thatīs right, tunnels-run West-to-East. This means two things. A: When you go underground in a twisty tunnel you become completely disoriented and have no idea where youīre going when you emerge and, B: if you miss your hotel, even by one block, you have to circle the entire town in order to get back to where you need to be.
NEVER EVER EVER EVER EVER drive in Guanajuato. It is, however, an extremely beautiful city to explore on foot;)
