For the next week we went up and down the southern coast of India, as far as Pondicherry. We visited 4 projects that are in partnership with MCC. There was a range of things they did and how they did them. It was a great experience for us and we learned so much. We were able to talk to the fishermen, their wives and children who were all affected by the Tsunami. Because of 2 large waves (some say over 10 meters high) many people died and all their livelihoods were destroyed and swept away.

We were also in southern India when another Tsunami hit Indonisia. Even though this Tsunami didn't hit India, all the fishermen were scared. For 4 days they did not go fishing. And they brought their boats up as far away from the ocean as possible.
