Okay so I am back home from a great week! Reba and I took a bus to Dhaka on Nov.3rd and came home on Nov.8th. What an exciting week! Many things we did, such as go to church and we saw other white people, which is a shock because we never see white people, even I stared at other white people! Then we went to Old Dhaka, which is the old part of the city. We saw the Pink Palace which is pink. Very cool. Then we went to Hindu street and I bought some conch-shell bracelets. We got lost a couple of times in Dhaka but we just sat back and relaxed. I got Henna (in Bangla its Mehendi) on my hand- it looks awesome! I had pizza and ice cream! Wow that was so amazing! It was a good break from the usuall rice and veggies. I also had some language lessons and I got in trouble with some army guards! HAHA! I took a picture of a bridge and they came running after me saying I wasn't allowed! They told me to delete my pictures! I did but man was that funny! Why can't I take a picture of a bridge? They mummbled something about the SAARC Summit happening this week. It is a summit to alliviate poverty in South Asia. Okay well that is about the summup of my trip. I could go on for pages and pages but I am sure that would bore some of you so I will stop now.
Okay one more story. So my house is in a farm and there is a big metal gate to get into the farm. There is also a guard at night so if I come home late, the guard lets me in. So the other day Reba and I came home and no one let us in. We are not sure what happend to the guard. We banged on the gate and yelled but nothing. After a while I decided that I would try to climb it and get around to unlock it. The gate is VERY tall, at least 8-10 feet high. I don't know how I did it but I was able to scale up the gate with a flashlight in my mouth because it was dark and there are not light anywhere. I opened the latch and it was all good. So yesterday Reba and I were gone for the day and we came back at night again. This time we noticed that the gate had a fresh coat of paint. It used to be rusty and green, now it was white white white, and it was still wet. And once again the guard was no where to be found. No way was I going to climb a freshly painted gate, okay we all know I probably would because it would be fun. But anyways we kept yelling and banging our hands on the gate. Our hands got so white, it was funny! We were there for a good long while, even the neighbour next to the farm came out and started yelling to help us! Happy ending to the story, the guard heard us and I didn't have to climb the wet painted gate. However that would have been a good story too. Okay that is all for now!
