Today it was sunny! So beautiful, the snow glitters. This morning I looked out the window and the sun was shining on a bush the snow was not yet melted off and it was glittering so beautifully, like it was incrusted with diamonds.

Alex, a really lovely friend of Daniel, took us out to "Roman Tower", even though it's not Roman, just a tower left over from the 12th century. He also took us out to a nature reserve where seven lakes are all in a line and fed by springs. They were frozen over and I really wanted to walk on them but we didn’t know if they were strong enough, we stood on the edge of one and jumped and there was a bit of a cracking sound. The tower was amazing; the physical labour it would have taken to build something like that is amazing. It was a pretty good view from up the top; I think they got it in the right spot for scenic observation and enemy watching.
